Update on Tool to Value Water Quality & Quantity

Keeping Forests has partnered with the Forest Service Southern Research Station (SRS) and NC State University to answer a key question — what is the value of forests to water quality and quantity?

• Pete Caldwell, a Forest Service Research Hydrologist, delivered a webinar on the purpose, status, and next steps for this work.

• The result will be a scientifically valid tool that will give stakeholders the ability to quantify the value of forests within a specific watershed. It is anticipated that the science and the tool will be publicly available early 2024.
