FOREST CHAMPIONS & LEADERS

Working with conservation leaders, we help the general public connect the dots between responsible forest management and the long-term viability of southern forests

Priority

Cultivate 1,000 forest champions and leaders across the U.S. South who will promote the importance of sustainably managed forests and the benefits they provide. Through targeted messaging, they will motivate others to join in the movement, sustain it, and take action.

Results

  • Released ground-breaking research that demonstrates how the public relates to southern forests and the most compelling ways to motivate action to conserve these resources.

  • Used the public opinion research to create an easy-to-use messaging playbook that is targeted at leaders and communicators within environmental-NGOs and Land Grant Universities

  • Actively working with leaders to put the playbook into action and monitoring how it was implemented, how it worked (or didn’t), and what results came from adopting these messages
